ACTING CLUES TO USE
"Speak the speech, I pray you, as I pronounc'd it to you..."
As spoken by Hamlet, this is William Shakespeare's plea to actors. "...as I pronounc'd it to you..." Hear that? So, how do we speak his speech then? By listening to the sounds of his words, paying close attention to their placement and rhythm, and fearlessly trying them out loud!
You can do it, and these will help! Below is a fancy list of terms and definitions (Don't freak out!), that whether or not you remember what these things are called, if you know and understand what they do then your appreciation of the written word, not just Shakespeare's, will grow tenfold! Thirtyfold. Hundredfold! (Depending on your previous knowledge and experience, of course.) Say these examples out loud - hear for yourself!
